About Mob Care Connect
Mob Care Connect was born from a simple truth — First Nations people deserve to receive care from people who understand them. People who share their culture, their language, their connection to Country, and their way of being in the world.
We saw a gap. First Nations NDIS participants and older people on Support at Home packages were navigating a system that wasn't built with them in mind, often receiving support from workers who didn't understand their culture or community. At the same time, skilled and caring First Nations people were looking for meaningful, flexible work where they could make a real difference.
Mob Care Connect brings these two groups together.
💬 Our Story
Mob Care Connect was founded by a proud Bardi, Jabirr Jabirr and Arabana woman, born and raised on Larrakia Country in Darwin.
With a background in health and years of working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and Aboriginal organisations across community, she witnessed first-hand how barriers like lack of transport, limited assistance, and disconnection from the wider community can profoundly impact the lives of our people.
She observed Elders receiving culturally inappropriate care from support workers who simply didn't understand them — their protocols, their language, their way. She also noticed something else: despite the role coming so naturally to First Nations people, very few of our mob were working as support workers.
That's what sparked Mob Care Connect.

We want to open the door for more First Nations people to step into the support worker profession — and to do it on their own terms. As an independent support worker on Mob Care Connect, you have real control over your working life:
- Your income — set your own rates and work as much or as little as suits you
- Your hours — choose when you are available and take bookings that fit your life
- Who you work with — connect with participants you feel comfortable with and build lasting relationships in community
- Your career — build your own reputation, grow your skills, and run your own small business
Whether you are just starting out or already experienced in care, Mob Care Connect gives you the tools and the platform to make support work a sustainable and rewarding profession.
🤝 Giving Participants Real Choice
For too long, many First Nations participants have had little say in who supports them or how their funding is used. Mob Care Connect puts that power back where it belongs — with you.
- Choose your worker — browse profiles and select someone you feel safe and comfortable with, based on their background, experience, and personality
- Control your package — use your NDIS or Support at Home funding for the supports that genuinely improve your day-to-day life
- Improve your quality of life — whether it's getting out to community events, having help around the home, or simply having someone to yarn with, your supports should make a real difference to how you live
- Build trust — when you find a worker you connect with, you can book them again and again, building a relationship grounded in mutual respect and shared culture
